Specific bequest

What is a specific bequest?

A specific bequest refers to donating an item of value to CCIA. This type of bequest is a good way to provide additional support to CCIA on top of a residual bequest, as it enables any valuable items not wanted by your loved ones to be turned into desperately needed funds for medical research.

How do I word it?

The wording for a specific bequest is:

I Give and Bequeath to Children’s Cancer Institute Australia for Medical Research ABN 41 072 279 559, in aid of that Institute and for its general purposes, (describe the article, shares or other) for which the receipt of the Treasurer or other officer shall be sufficient discharge to my Executor for the Bequest.
