We joined forces with McDonald Jones Homes and Walker Corporation to undertake an extraordinary challenge – building a house in 28 days.

To mark Childhood Cancer Awareness month this September, we’ve built a fully-furnished luxury four-bedroom home in the picturesque and historic town of Appin, in Greater Western Sydney. The ‘House Built with Love’ will be auctioned in October, with all funds raised going towards our vital research here at Children’s Cancer Institute.

You can join the journey and help us Build for a Cure. Buy a Virtual Gold Brick today for your chance to win a $30,000 Ultimate Home Package AND help cure childhood cancer. Time’s running out though. The competition closes Friday 29 September.

About Build for a Cure

This is the third Build for a Cure project, with homes built and sold in Glenworth Park (in 2014) and Teralba, Lake Macquarie (in 2016). As in previous years, everything needed to build this home has been donated, including the time and skill of the selfless volunteers who built it.

Check out our video below for a look at Day 1 of the Build and see all of the action on site.

Works began on 21 August, and the house was revealed, on schedule, on 17 September. It will be auctioned on 22 October, with all proceeds from the sale coming directly to help fund our childhood cancer research.

Scott Cam, Gold Logie winner and host of Channel Nine’s reality show The Block, is a supporter and ambassador of Build for a Cure.

“When Bill McDonald asked me to join the Build for a Cure campaign to raise funds for Children’s Cancer Institute, I was thrilled to have a way I could personally help.

“These people aren’t asking for a miracle, just the funds to make it happen,” he said.

The Appin community in south-west Sydney has come together to enthusiastically support the project, including families impacted by childhood cancer. We couldn’t have done it without them.

A huge family fun day was held on Reveal Day and there’ll be another one on Auction Day on 22 October. If you’re in the area, why not drop by and see the Build for a Cure house for yourself?

If you’re in the market for a new place, you can find out more about this wonderful four-bedroom family home ahead of its October auction. Fully-furnished and landscaped, it’s ready to move straight into.

In the meantime, find out more about Build for a Cure and buy a Virtual Gold Brick.
