Officially sworn in as Governor-General on 1 July 2019, His Excellency says he and Mrs Hurley are proud to be involved with the Institute.

“We know that cancer can strike anyone, at any age, and that nearly three children in Australia die from cancer every week.
“Just thinking about it is takes the breath away. Each and every week, young lives lost, leaving parents, families and loved ones devastated. It is a tragedy. But it is a tragedy that the team at Children’s Cancer Institute are working to address. Their vision of saving the lives of all children with cancer may be ambitious but so too is their dedication and commitment.
“We are delighted to be involved with the Institute and look forward to supporting their efforts over the next five years.”
