Our Supporters Turn Out in Record Numbers for this Year's City2Surf

12 Aug 2019

This year over 150 of our supporters and staff laced up their running shoes and hit the streets to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research.

Thank you so much to everyone who yesterday braved a chilly Sydney morning to help us achieve our mission. Kieran (pictured above) is one of our highest City2Surf fundraisers, and a childhood cancer survivor.

Those participating included fourteen of our own staff. Researcher Dr Marion Le Grand was one. Marion, who is from Brittany in France, has worked with us for three years. Her research focuses on finding better treatments for the childhood cancer neuroblastoma. This was Marion’s third City2Surf, but the first time that she’s fundraising for us as well.

Also keen to participate was Tony Bell, father of a little girl called Ava, who, at just six months old, was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma. Not only did Tony compete, he also stood at the finish line and cheered on our supporters.

Our fundraising target for this event is $50,000. The current total stands at $43,500, with donations still coming in. It’s not too late to donate.
