Lola Joy Ross was born 24th July 2020 and welcomed into the most loving home with her adoring parents Aaron and Naomi, big brother Toby and big sister Maya.
At the tender age of 10 months Lola was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer known as Embryonal Tumour with Multi-Layered Rosettes (ETMR). She underwent 10 months of intensive treatment with the support of an incredible medical team.
Recently, Lola tragically lost her battle and passed away surrounded by her family, but her Lion Heart lives on.
Lola’s smile spread from ear to ear and would light up every room. You would often find her safely nestled in her mother's arms, laughing with or at her siblings craziness or listening to her dad play the guitar. She knew her sweet face could get her anything she wanted and had mastered the finger point to the pantry for snacks, to the swing or to muma or dad. If you were lucky enough to hold her, you would get the deepest cuddle. She had a nurturing nature which shone through when she played muma to her baby dolls and when she adored her little and big cousins.
The treatment options available to Lola were not effective. Brain cancers claim more children than any other type of cancer. We must change this. The only way we can find new more effective treatments is through research.
