Cancer Changes Christmas
Izzy Wilkinson loved Christmas.
But sadly, she only got to experience five of them.
Donate today and help us cure every child of cancer.
There’s a magical atmosphere at Christmas that creates lifelong memories. But this year, over 150 Australian families will be facing their first Christmas after losing a child to cancer.
For every family touched by this devastating disease, Christmas will never be the same again.
Children's Cancer Institute is conducting research into the causes, prevention and cure of childhood cancer. We've made great progress, but we won't stop until every child can live a long, happy and healthy life.
Please dig deep and donate what you can, so our research team can find a cure for every child and stop cancer from changing Christmas.
A life should be long.
Izzy was just 4 years old when she was diagnosed with the deadliest childhood cancer known as DIPG - a brain cancer with no effective treatments.
This would have been Izzy’s 8th Christmas, but instead, there’ll be an empty stocking, an empty place at the table, and two empty holes in her Mum’s and Dad’s hearts.
Izzy's mum Sarah says ‘The hope we hold in our hearts now is that a cure to DIPG will be found.’
Your donation this Christmas will help our research team to find more effective treatment options for kids like Izzy, and ultimately a cure for every child with cancer.
Watch the video to hear Izzy's parents Sarah and Craig, talk about how Christmas has changed for their family since losing Izzy.
