Fundraising to help kids with cancer.

Hi, 
My name is Avi and I'm 4years old (well almost 5)
When I was seven months old my mum and dad shaved my head to help it grow a bit fuller and I've been growing my hair ever since. So I wouldn't feel self conscious my dad shaved his head after shaving mine, and we both grew our hair long together. About 6 months ago my dad decided it was time for a change and he cut his hair short, when he got home I saw him and I cried for hours. 
Now that I'm older, (and wiser) I've decided it's my turn to do the same. Mum and I often talked about cutting my hair and she encouraged me to donate my hair to help kids with cancer if I ever decided to cut it. My dad also has a friend he works with named Ben Wheeler,  Ben and his family started a fundraising foundation called Levi's Project to raise funds to help find a cure for kids with cancer in memory of their son Levi, after he lost his battle with DIPG (brain cancer) 
I want to help them too, so I am trying to raise awareness and funds to help the Childrens Cancer Institute continue their research in hope of finding a cure.

Hi everyone,
Avi's dad here. When we started this fundraiser we were initally going to put $500 as the goal, and I thought "hey, let's try for $1000" big ask and a lot of pressure for an almost 5 year old kid. But those of you that know Avi, also know he's a very special kid with a big heart, we've always been so proud of Avi, he has this ability to adapt and he has never been afraid to try new things without hesitation, especially if he knows there's a chance he can make a positive change in some way. True to his word Avi went through with his promise without any hesitation. And thanks to the love and support you have all shown, Avi hasraised more than we could have anticipated (with your help of course) Our goal as parents was to try and show Avi how much of a difference one person could make, but it also reminded us that it takes the love and support of many to truly help make a change. 
So tonight we raise a glass to every single one of you for allowing us to do just that, and also allowing Avi to feel inspired and humbled by the power of camaraderie while reaffirming just how much love and support is in the hearts of the community and the people around him. Just when we thought we couldn't be any prouder of Avi, he goes and does something like this!
