Hi, I’m fundraising for Matty’s Hope
Matt had a rare and aggressive type of brain cancer Diffuse Hemispheric Glioma, H3 G34-mutant (G34-DHG). Throughout and after Matt's battle with brain cancer, we learnt that there is currently no research done in Australia and very little research done internationally on this specific type of brain cancer.
To find out that your loved one has cancer is difficult. To find out that there is very little known about the cancer, its causes and how it can be treated is even more difficult.
We have collaborated with Dr David Ziegler and Dr Maria Tsoli from Children’s Cancer Institute to undertake Australia’s first research project "Matty's Hope" on G34-DHG. CCIA’s effort have helped improve the survival rate of Leukemia patients and have been successful in pioneering clinical trials for DIPG patients.
Our family have anchored funding for this project for 2 years. CCIA will commence this research project from early 2023 with the following aims:
1. Identify new treatments against H3G34R
2. Identify new therapeutic vulnerabilities through genetic engineering
We are raising funds to continue supporting the efforts of CCIA and to give this project the best possible outcome. Help us give patients and their families battling this deadly brain cancer hope.
