Our learning and development philosophy is based on the 70-20-10 model of learning encompassing on-the-job training and experience, coaching and mentoring, and formal courses.
For example, the Institute is proud to be a partner organisation to Franklin Women, a social enterprise that connects, supports and invests in women working across the health and medical research ecosystem. The Institute is committed to supporting a healthy work-life balance for all our team, which may involve flexible hours or working from home using our remote access portal. Of course, there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach, so we encourage all employees to explore the flexible arrangements available to their role.

Completed in 2010 the Lowy Cancer Research Centre is one of the largest dedicated cancer research centres in the Southern Hemisphere equipped with state of the art laboratories. It is the perfect environment to help our staff thrive and one-day cure childhood cancer.
Supporting employees who wish to ride to work or fit some exercise into their working day is important. Our office has shower and locker facilities available and on-site bicycle storage.

Parking is available on campus to all staff through UNSW. There is a fee that can be paid outright, or taken fortnightly out of your pre-tax pay as an arrangement that the Institute has with UNSW.
