I'm fundraising for my 50th birthday

Dear friends,

I am looking forward to celebrating my milestone birthday with you all. While I can’t deny there is some trepidation with turning 50, I have a lot to be grateful for. Most importantly my family. 

As you all know, when Georgia was 2 years old she was diagnosed with a Stage 1 Neuroblastoma. In the world of childhood cancer, Georgia was one of the lucky ones. Her tumour was successfully removed and she didn’t have to suffer through the pain of further treatment. But like I said, she was one of the lucky ones. Every week in Australia, 20 children are diagnosed with cancer. This is 20 too many. And some of those 20 will not survive and thrive like Georgia has - and that is why research is critical.

Our family has been very involved with the Children’s Cancer Institute of Australia (CCIA) since Georgia had Neuroblastoma, and it’s the only independent medical research institute in Australia wholly dedicated to curing childhood cancer. 

So for those that have asked what I would like for my birthday - well your presence as we celebrate is all I ask for, but if you feel inclined, I couldn’t think of a better gift than a donation to the CCIA.
