On 20 October we’re holding our annual 12-hour cycling challenge, where teams compete to ride the most laps and raise the most funds for our research.

Endure for a Cure will be held at Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek. Now in its fourth year, it’s a great day for riders to challenge themselves while helping fund research into childhood cancer. Check out a video about last year’s event.

Going round again

Many riders return year after year, each with their own motivation for taking on this challenge. David Sylvester is riding with Team SASCC T3 and has raised over $3,700 to date. He’s riding for a family friend.

“A dear friend of my family has a daughter that has battled with a rare form of cancer for the past three years. She is now five and has started kindergarten and is taking this battle on with both hands, as is her amazing family.

“It was a Facebook page ‘like’ from this family that brought my attention to this ride,” said David.

“My thoughts are ‘If this little girl can endure, well so can I.'”

Pedal power and people power combined

There are 3 ways you can join in this combo of people power and pedal power. First – with pedals. Every 4 kilometre lap completed and every dollar raised will make a big difference to research into childhood cancer. If this sounds like a challenge you’d like to take on, then get a team together and go for it! Register on the Endure for a Cure website.

If you’re not a cyclist you can still play a part as an event volunteer. As the hours go by and the kilometres stack up, riders will start to feel tired and need some motivation. That’s when they’ll appreciate the family, friends and volunteers around the track encouraging them all the way. If you’d like to be there helping out, please email us.

Sponsorship is another way to help. Find out how your organisation can partner with Endure for a Cure to support our research.
